Practice Notes:

Successfully obtained a defense verdict for a defendant parking garage operator after a lengthy wrongful death jury trial seeking 10 million dollars in damages in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Successfully appealed to the Supreme Court of Virginia a complex insurance coverage and indemnification dispute seeking a multi-million dollar judgment on behalf of a plaintiff insurance company and following a lengthy trial in the Circuit Court of Fairfax County, Virginia.

Secured a dismissal before trial by summary judgment of a product liability suit seeking over a million dollars in damages for an amputation injury in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

Secured an early dismissal of a defamation claim where the plaintiff was seeking over 1 million dollars in damages in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.

Successfully obtained a defense verdict for a general contractor sued for alleged permanent personal injuries suffered by the plaintiff following a multi-day jury trial in the Circuit Court for Frederick County, Maryland.

Successfully defended an insurance company against a $48 plus million dollar claim for advertising liability insurance coverage at summary judgment in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and following an appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Successfully defended an insurance company in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland and following an appeal to the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland for an insured’s multi-million dollar claim for insurance coverage of a qui tam action and an adverse judgment entered against it for violations of Federal and state False Claims Acts.
