BiographyBenjamin brings 19 years of legal experience as a civil litigator back to the Saunders & Schmieler attorney team, as he began his legal career with the firm in 1999. After three years with the firm, Benjamin continued his litigation career downtown at a larger firm and eventually added residential and commercial real estate to his practice areas. Today, Benjamin continues his litigation practice where he has successfully represented clients on an array of civil issues before the Courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Benjamin also provides legal representation to the local community by maintaining a strong trust and estate planning and estate administration and probate practice. Furthermore, Benjamin provides legal advice to small businesses and real estate professionals and non-professionals on a variety of business matters. He also conducts real estate settlement services in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia. He has been an active participant in all aspects of the community, and has lectured and instructed clients, Realtors, business owner, and the like, on issues ranging from premises liability, including sports venues, risk exposure, fair housing, foreclosures, bankruptcy, legislative issues as they relate to real property, agency, and more.
As a trial attorney with the firm and with a large litigation firm in the District of Columbia, Benjamin has litigated hundreds of cases, many to summary disposition and verdict. He has also been counsel on matters which resulted in appellate decisions in both Maryland and the District including: District of Columbia v. Arnold & Porter and Millard v. Boys Home of Baltimore. |
